Hello, my friends! We have another really fun-filled sketch from Amy for you this week. Take a look...
I had a never-been-used set that I thought would work great but after coloring I found that these brushes would work better if I gave the sketch a turn on its side - I know Amy won't mind a bit! Here's my card...
Color My World - from Colorado Craft Co. that I picked up during one of their many sales. Why I dilly-dallied is beyond me - perhaps because I don't have dies to cut them? In hindsight, I should not have let that stop me as they were very simple to fussy cut. I reenforced them with a backing of heavy cardstock before popping them up on foam squares. Now I know Amy's sketch doesn't include a frame - but when it works, it works, right? This PB Frame It die did the trick and I gave it a 'canvas' using SU Subtle Texture. A few stamped splatters of each color ink and a sentiment from the same set on an Altenew Slim Label, and my card was complete!
I know you'll have 'just the thing' in your own stash to bring Amy's Sketch to life! Let's go see the team's cards, shall we?

ReplyDeleteMichele anyone that makes cards will adore your card. It’s perfect for any artist, card maker, I love it. I will have to look at my Colorado Craft Co stamps as I know I bought some as well. Thank You For reminding me also now to use mine.❤️🌺❤️🌺❤️🌺
ReplyDeletePerfect! And the frame too, if I have any word! I love your canvas and little splatters that add so much -- I'm so glad you braved the fussy-cutting world and gave us this terrific card
ReplyDeleteLOVE your artsy take on the sketch! Those paintbrushes work beautifully on your card---splashes, frame, and all! So inspiring!
ReplyDeleteEvery bit of this is fun, but it's your coloring on the handles that has me gob smacked! Fabulous card, Michele!
ReplyDeleteThese paint brushes worked perfectly for this sketch, Michele! I love how they are loaded with paint and your splatters landed perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun and creative - and even more amazing after you read that fabulous sentiment!
ReplyDeleteOhh this is such fun Michele. Great idea on the sketch. I like it portrait. I have a hard time with landscape cards.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Michele!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card with your paint brushes and splatters of colors. The sentiment is perfect. Love the frame too.
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, Michele, and I applaud you for fussy cutting all those brushes. I love the idea of 'framing the canvas' and the splatters add a fun touch.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have now used those brushes. They work perfectly with that sketch and the sentiment is just write. Love the splatters too xx
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful interpretation of the sketch, Michele. Oh and the way you colored those brushes is just beyond the beyonds. The sentiment is so perfect and the topping of those splatters finishes it beautifully. I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI lovelovelove this card, and I do agree with the sentiment! Michele, your coloring of the paintbrushes is so perfectly amazing that I thought at first you'd purchased ephemera. The frame and 'canvas' are ideal. It's just fabulous all over!
ReplyDeleteYour brushes look so real - fabulous card! Some of us make brushes that are rather flimsy….;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome colouring.... those brushes are surreal!
ReplyDeleteThis has to be one of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen in my many years of crafting. I simply adore this piece of art the colours are divine. I even went to look to see if there was a die set to match but unfortunately there isn't which is a shame as there is no way I could begin to fussy cut something so delicate never mind colour the stamps so beautifully. Thank you once again for the inspiration.
