While browsing my YouTube subscriptions I discovered Penny Black's Permission to Play series! I can get lost in Jill's water coloring, can't you? [After a little bit of shopping] I gathered a few supplies from my PB stash to join in the fun!

I'm always pleased to get Debby Hughes' blog posts delivered to my inbox. I couldn't resist CASEing her latest creation for SSS! You can find it HERE. I have quite a few SSS flower dies so I did a little digging and found one that could be layered as Debby did.
It has been an AGE since I used embossing paste - lucky for me it
hadn't completely dried up.
I couldn't help but try to 'stage' my card 'Debby-style' too! Her photography skills
mirror her card-making skills! But I sure do miss her videos - maybe one day she'll
treat us to a little water coloring again!

Oh, my goodness, stop! I'm stealing a moment to view your blog and here I sit swooning and spellbound with a million things rushing through my head. I'm a Jill Foster and Debby Hughes fan, too. I love that you took the time to act on your inspiration. Your cards are all so beautiful in entirely different styles. Love the bird, which I've used several times but now I want to pull it out again and make these exact cards. And the yellow cosmos card... I can't even. Sigh...
You know I love me some birdies and these are super-duper cute! LOVE the embossing in the background, and yes, I know you have a "few" of them! The florals are delightful too...embossing paste and I just don't see eye to eye, but I love seeing yours!
It's always a treat when Debby posts and I miss her videos too. It's a treat to see this sweet bird again, twice! They make me want to dig mine out. And your Cosmos and fern is Debby worthy, my friend! I wonder if my embossing paste is still good to go?

I love Jill Foster videos too Michele, although she always makes it look a lot easier to water color than it really is! Of course, she probably has a lot more patience than me and lets layers dry before adding on! But anyway, your cards are absolutely beautiful! I love both of your birdie cards and the embossed backgrounds are SO PRETTY!! And you are definitely making good use of that letterpress sentiment set! Your last card is FABULOUS!! The flower and fern are beautiful and I love, LOVE that stenciled background with the embossing paste! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Sounds like there are a lot of PB & J fans here although I haven't watched her videos in a while. Those birds are darling, Michele, and embossing adds a great background without distracting from them. I love the flower and that fern is so delicate.
More glorious designs Michele, love how you have brought this beautiful bird to life and your 'Debby' inspired card is divine. It's so nice to be home and finally catch up on your cards, though I am already back at work and chomping at the bit to be creating again lol.

Your little birds are adorable, Michele! The embossed backgrounds create the perfect playgrounds for them. Your Debbie-style card and staging are fabulous! I love how the distressed texture of the embossing paste in the background and the white spatters capture the essence of Debbie's card.
