I did indeed have that playday in my studio yesterday... it didn't take long to find the perfect inspiration!
First up, for Color Hues - they always make reaching for colors easier for me! Julie B. has chosen Lilac and Lime for her combo! Since I just had used my lilacs, I took those colors in a different direction. I love stenciling and this Magnolia Pattern from Pinkfresh was calling my name... I took that in a different direction, too!
Take note of the illustration from the package ... notice that some of the florals and leaves are meant to be left as black on white line drawings? Now take a look at my card on the right - since their stencils didn't color ALL of the florals, I brought out my Copics and finished the job ...
Here are the stenciled florals and inks used:
Yes, I did add a touch of grey in the background to add to the 'mood.'
After cropping the panel down with a stitched rectangle die, it was mounted on my card base and a simple [Betterpress-ed] sentiment finished my card. Thanks, Julie!
Thank you, Julie!
My friend Bobby has chosen lilac, peach, and GRAY for their color challenge at Just us Girls #725... thank you, Bobby! I couldn't imagine how pretty these colors would be together until I saw what you and your team did with them... then this CAS card happened...
The Stamp Market's Bloomin' Cute die set, and a sentiment from ASD's Tulips Treasure white heat-embossed on grey, cut with an ancient, pierced circle die from MFT that could be one of the first essential sets I ever purchased!
[That woodgrain paper is from Ellen Hutson - no longer available, but I think Altenew has some like it.]
Before you go!!! I have a fun celebration to share tomorrow! Don't forget to come back!! There could be a prize!!! Just sayin'!

Wow! You are officially Queen of the color challenges today! I so love your Magnolias... so beautiful. And your CAS JUGS card is so perfectly wonderful. The woodgrain background is such a great stage for those posies. Love them!
These are both just a pretty as can be!
Those marvelous magnolias were pretty before and after your Copic coloring! Fabulous card, Michele. Love the sweet little number you added to our JUGs gallery too!
These are both so pleasing to the ye. Just beautiful. Love that daisy die (will have to look that one up!). I shall definitely be back tomorrow as I am intrigued.
Beautiful cards using the colors with perfection from the two challenges.
Beautiful colouring... I'm swooning over your magnolias! And super cute CAS daisies, you know they will make my heart happy!
I LOVE how you combined the stenciling and alcohol ink coloring, Michele! They went together beautifully! I also LOVE how you combined the peach, lilac and gray with the wonderful texture on the second card!
Well, look at you go Miss clever girl you I do like the finished version a lot. Very cute cas card also thanks- for joining in at JUGS.
Two FABULOUS cards Michele! Your magnolias were ink blended and Copic colored just beautifully, and you totally made our challenge colors SHINE my friend! And your CAS card with the daisies is so sweet with the lovely color combination and loving the textured background too! Thanks so much for sharing with us at the Color Hues Challenge my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Two beautiful cards, Michele! That PFS floral is one of my all-time favorites, and I love how you've colored the whole image. The Copics match the inks perfectly. Thanks for sharing with us at Color Hues!
I actually like your version of the PFS stamp better, Michele, and what a great job you did coloring in the extra parts the stencil didn't cover. Your CAS card is as cute as can be. Thanks for sharing it with us at Just Us Girls.
Beautiful! I love the color combos for both cards and what fun to put your own spin on the magnolia stencil. Those darling sweet flowers and CAS card are extra adorable! I have a fair amount of the wood grain cardstock, but I tend to hoard it. What am I thinking? You've reminded me how amazing it looks on a card!
Two beautiful florals! The sweet simplicity of the second one is oh so perfect!
Oh so delightful, Michele. Love your coloring, so light and pretty and then to see the die cut flowers. Sweet and charming. Thanks for sharing!!
Gorgeous cards Michele, and the one for JUGS got me with the texture and CAS design! Thanks for sharing this beauty with us!!!
Michelle... both cards are fabulous! Love how you filled in the Altenew stencil...beautiful. Thanks ever so much for joining us at JUGS this week.
I've just come from a visit to Darnell's watercolour take on this set Michele, two totally different looks from this one set but equally stunning. I must be on the lookout for this set when I next visit a stamp fayre! It's such a gorgeous image it really doesn't need anything else but your simple sentiment to shine. Thanks for making my Color Hues combo sing. :)
Michele, Two beautiful floral cards! The simplicity of the second one surely brings you in and your first card for Color Hues is just gorgeous. I like that you added more color instead of leaving the leaves white. Thanks for being in our gallery at Color Hues.
Girl, you don't need ANY lessons from me, quite the opposite! What you do with stamps and coloring leaves me in awe! But, wow, we were seriously in step, weren't we, right down to sharing the way the set is "meant" to be used and ending with, "not us, nope, we want to color the whole shebang!" I love it! And when I did a search for the stamp on your blog it also brought up the SPECTACULAR card you made - well, two! - while borrowing Marcia's stamp! I cannot make my colored pencils do that!! (They never went past the 8th grade, I guess.) That is my favorite version I've ever seen and kismet to the max getting it with a winning discount!! What will we channel next ...? Big hugs, D.
Such beautiful cards, Michele! The CAS design is stunning! I love your use of our color combo - coloring all the blooms is a great choice! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
Wow these are both stunning! I think I might need to add a couple of things to my wishlist!!!
Michele both of these cards bring such a big s,lie to my face. How I would love to spend just a couple hours with that creative brain of yours. I love how you finished off the PF Magnolias and the delicate flowers, form your JUGS card are so very pretty. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Color Hues! xo
Beautiful cards using the two colour challenges, Michele. So clever to colour in the flowers missing on the stencil. LOVE how your card front turned out and great matching with your colours. Your CAS card is totally adorable. I love the sweetness of those flowers over the woodgrain background. xx
