10th Blog-aversary!

TEN YEARS!  I hope you agree that is a celebration-worthy feat!  A whole LOT of fun challenges I've had to play in, friends to play cards with, and you all have brought such joy to my days, weeks, and years!  Thanks, from the bottom of my heart for every kind word you've left for me along the way, dear friends!

I couldn't wait to recreate my very first shared card.  You'll find the original HERE if you are curious.  Keeping things fun and using my words have been a constant over the years.  Today's card is no exception... and the rewrite of my INSIDE sentiment is still relevant!

Inside: Sorry to yell ... I didn't think you caught my wave!

The wave die is from Memory Box c. 2012!  Now, I had to do a little digging to find three different hello dies but find them I did!  The first from MFT [a freebie] the second from a HoneyBee Slimline Sentiment/Eyelet frame set, and that last one?  WHO KNOWS!  I found it in with the SSS Boat - safe to say they made the hello die, too.

What is a party without a prize??  Since Altenew is also celebrating their 10th year, I have chosen one of their sets as my prize.  You might already own it, so please tell me that in your comment - I'll find a replacement if you win!

c. 2015

HOW do you win, you ask?  Leave a comment, tell me one other thing that is different from the original - most importantly: be sure I can reach you!  If you are a no-reply commenter, it is impossible to contact you!

Good luck!  I'll have Tom choose a winner on May 11th!

Thanks for stopping by and for all the love over the years!

  1. Wow happy 10th anniversary, big congratulations, guessing what is different is you have a sailboat now on the card. I too have that sail boat and the hello and I'm with you I sure the 3rd hello is from SSS too.

  2. Looks like I am the first, one thing is that you have used more than one shade of blue, and also included a boat

  3. Congrats on celebrating 10 years of blogging! You've been a wonderful asset to blogger and card makers alike! Your card is darling and shows sweet growth from the first beautiful card. I'm not in it to win it. Just wanted to say congrats and let you know how much I appreciate you and love YOU and your work.

  4. Happy Blog-aversary! I would like to know how on earth you got 35 comments on your first post. I probably got one. LOL. It has been a joy watching your beautiful, heartful art grow and mature over the years. I am constantly awed by your talents. I enjoy our friendship so. I love the way you CASED yourself for this. How appropriate. I love all of the gradient blues in your revised card in the waves and the sky. I love them noth. The boat is the perfect touch in the new one. And I love the revision of the greeting inside. Whatever you do, I love it.

  5. TEN years?! Wowza! It's hard to imagine all the creativity you've crammed into your beautiful blog, my friend! Your first card was pretty cute too, but you stepped up this card with lots more layers of BLUE!! Woohoo! And that little sailboat looks like it's having the ride of its life! Love it all, of course! And thanks for your goodies, I got them yesterday! You are a most generous stamper as well as a most creative one! And thanks for sharing your "staging"...always fun to see behind the scenes!

  7. Congrats on 10 years! Kind of shocking it’s been that long isn’t it? Wow it’s obvious you added a boat from your first creation, the striped skyline adds a lot to your new card. 😊 well I haven’t been following your blog for the full 10 years. I sure I’m glad I’m following it now. It’s always a pleasure seeing your creations. Congrats again.

  8. Congratulations!!!! Your blog has made my world a better place. And if I recall, YOU were the one who encouraged me to "start a blog!". Thank you for that.

  9. Congratulations on 10 years! Love your reinterpretation of your earlier card. I see a trio of 3s. 3 waves, 3 strips for the sky, and both are in 3 different blues.

  13. 10yrs doesn't time fly? It will be 7years for me in June. I am so glad that I found your blog as your cards are just superb and such an inspiration. I see you have taken your photography to a different level now too. It is all one big learning curve. Thanks for sending us back to your first post, what an adventure it has been and look how your style has progressed. There are several things different from the original - you have included 3 waves (hopefully not too much chance of missing them this time), 3 colours and a tiny little boat. It looks like the waves might be a bit big for it. Hope the occupants are all OK. Thank you for the journey. I can remember how terrified I was when I clicked publish on my first post. I am so glad I took the plunge though. It was worth it just to meet you xx

  14. Congrats on 10 years, Michele! Great re-do on your card! I love the 'hello' sentiments done with the die cuts, when they were stamped on the original card. And the wording for the sentiment is different too.

  15. This post just made my day! Happy Ten years and cheers to the next decade! I love the re-creation photo…lol! And a difference? Well you know what that old lady on tv says…the boat, the boat, the boat…..I laugh every time I see that commercial! But my favorite takeaway from all this is Debby Hughes! She is just wonderful and I could listen to her all day…..and she knows talent when she sees it! So glad she encouraged you!

  16. Happy 10th Anniversary blogging, Michele!! Three waves and three hellos! I love all of your gorgeous cards and enjoy reading your blog as there's always a smile in your words.

  17. A hearty congratulations, my friend! I was late to discover you but I'm so glad I did! You constantly inspire and enable me! Your cards are more detailed now with lots of texture and depth that I love. And you are the Queen of sentiments and puns! It's always a treat to come visit here. I hope you'll keep going for at least another 10 years!

  18. Congratulations on your 10th year! I only started visiting recently, but it's been a fun time for me and I know the whole 10 years have probably been a blast for you. There are a lot of things different about today's card -- more waves, the sailboat, the layers of blue, the die cut words, a small difference in the inside sentiment. I like how the one photo display of today's card suggests a ship in a bottle. Intentional? I'm here for the friendship and encouragement, so please pass along the prize if Tom happens to draw my name. Here's to 10 more fabulous years, Michele!

  19. Congratulations on your blogaversary, Michele! I'm so happy our paths crossed through this card making hobby we share. Even happier to have spent time together face to face. I'm looking forward to seeing that sweet face of yours in person again soon... Tom's too! I love the CASness of your first card and the added layers to the remake. That little sailboat is super cute. Aside from the obvious differences, I know this one was made in a different house!

  20. Congratulations on 10 years of blogging. I enjoy your blogs so much! I see a sailboat on the new one, so pretty.

  21. Michele, a heartfelt congratulations on your ten years coming your way. I remember the first time I visited your blog and your amazing brain just shined through your cards. I thought you were amazing then and you still are. I think the first time I left a comment was in Jan of 2015...a target with a heart card. It was so clever. Time spent visiting your blog is never a waste, often a glimpse to something incredible, and always a joy! I recently won something from you so don't include me in the draw...your diecut hellos are at an angle. Hope to see your creations for many many many more years to come.

  22. A HUGE Congrats my friend, isn't time the funniest thing... I don't think I am game to head back and take a look at my first blog post lol. And I'm as happy as a lark that we are sharing our card making journey together! Ps. Gorgeous take on the original design, I only hope that boat is safe in those rough waters!
(please don't include me for the prize... you've seen how many Altenew stamps I have lol)

  23. Congratulations on your 10 year blog-aversary. You have come a long way, as we all have. I like how you included the large word die cuts instead of stamping. Love the shades of blue. I also would love the Altenew set, that is one I don't have.

  24. Congratulations on ten years! Amazing journey for you and us. Well you’ve certainly gone big on your restyled card. Lovely blues on both though.

  25. Congratulations on your 10th year! I love the new version, more waves, more blues, 3 different die cut sentiments instead of 3 repeated stamped... I love that you CASED yourself!

  26. Oh Michele! Congratulations on your wonderful achievement! You are such a wonderful addition to the blogging community. I love your creativity and the voice you've shared over the years. I know I've been blessed to see your creativity and kindness shine. You've come a long way baby since your initial post!

  27. Congrats on 10 years, Michele. How did you enter a challenge before you started your blog? I love the varied colors of the waves on your now landscape orientation.
I must say your first card was far better than mine. I started 13 years ago with a Cricut and computer generated sentiments. Thankfully I found a community that taught me a better way (IMHO) of doing things.

  28. Great "remake" of your first card, Michele -- love it, and the staging!!! As for differences, stamped to die cut sentiment, three layers of waves and background colors in three different tones of aqua, but most importantly -- The Other End of the Fish Platter!!!

  29. Congratulations and I always enjoy your works of art! The new card has 3 waves in different shades of blue and the first one just had one wave. You also added the sailboat. I like the die cut hellos!

  30. Happy 10th blogaversary!! You made me go look to see when mine started, 2008 it seems, wow, time sure passes by fast!! Love the card, has many more waves and sailboat on it then the first card, but both are fantastic and super fun!! I just became your newest follower, see the dog, that's me LOL, well it was my other doodle that has passed, we have Mack now but I couldn't bring myself to change my profile picture!! Anyhow, congrats and have a great and creative week!!

  31. 10 years of blogging, that’s great. Congratulations. Your latest version of this card is much more complex and I love the addition of the boat on the new one.
