EBE November Release Day 4 of Teases

I promised you a treat today, and I do hope you'll think I've delivered.  It's a Bon Bon Box with the cutest little Mini Tags, and Small Sayings to deliver them to those special people in your life.  Ready. set. go...

Here's how I made mine pretty outside, and in!  Just by choosing a double-sided paper - like this one from Honey Bee, called Log Cabin - that has the perfect weight for it!

Most of these designer papers include 2 or more of each design.  I've used two sheets of each for my Bon Bon boxes:

Making sure to cut them both
from the same side of the paper.

Then, it's just a matter of folding on the lines that are created while cutting,  and using a strong glue [like Gina K Connect] to connect the two sections of the box.  Here is how I add the perfect curve to my cuts:

Lay the box onto a mouse pad - or use the pad from your MISTI like I have - and carefully go over each side using your bone folder until it has the desired curve.  Almost like the process of curling ribbon... do you remember that? lol

Then it's just a matter of adding a sweet treat to the inside... here I've used my kids favorite treat... I use a wee bit of temporary glue tape on the tabs - one can never tell who might be peeking - and added a sweet little Mini Tag, with a silver embossed Small Sayings on each.

Hey, why not decorate your tree with these?

So!  Was that a sweet treat?  I have one more for you tomorrow … if you've hung in there with me so far this week, I thank you SO much!  Everything will be available Sunday, November 10th in the Ellen Hutson, LLC shop!

CAS[E] this Sketch #347 - Retro week!

There's nothing like looking back at cards of the past... we hope you feel that way, too, because it's RETRO WEEK, my friends!!  Chrissy's fun Sketch is from August 2015!!  Did you play??  Be sure to share the before, and after, in your post!!  Here's mine from 2015:

This past weekend, Tom and I visited our friends the Elton's, in Ohio … our guys spent a day photographing nature, and I was blessed with a full day of crafting with my sweet friend Lisa!!  SO how could I not make a 'what would Lisa do' card for this week?  I borrowed her SSS Autumn Blessings set, and she gave me a stack of GRAY card bases to play with, and shared an embossed tag - she does know me so well!  Thanks, Lisa!

Enough talk... here's my new card:

Thanks for stopping by … hope you have fun with this Retro Sketch!!  Let's go see what my CTS team has made for Sketch #347, shall we?

Inspired By #97 ... blankets

It is most definitely time to bring out those Fall throws 'round my house … and who wouldn't love a stack of blankets like these in our Inspired By #97 photo inspiration?  They ALL fit my style, and color palette!  See that one on top?  It was all the inspiration I needed for my card this week!

A few plaid-builder sets were used to create the stamped plaid on my 'blanket' and there were a few colors used, and over-stamped' to recreate the look of that gorgeous blanket!  I'll list everything below.  All that wonderful woven texture came from embossing the panel with my fave SU ef - you know, the one I've used ad nauseum.  I also pulled out my favorite Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies!  Here's a bit of a closeup view:

The sentiment is from a new to me set from Memory Box called Grateful Autumn.  You'll see more of those very soon!

Hope you'll be Inspired By #97 … can't wait to hear how you were inspired by those gorgeous blankets!

EBE November Release Tease Day 3

Your kindness was up, up, and a way too sweet yesterday … thank you!!  Today, it's all about the words -  and, if you know me well, you'll know how happy I am to have fun sentiments all ready for me in stamp form!

EH has taken the guesswork out of the punchline, so to speak... meet: That Think You Do, and 'Tis the Season!

Full disclosure - that smiley face is mine!
and the branches are from Altenew's Leafy Canopy

Inside: you'll always be older than me
and, yes, that punchline IS included in the set!!!
[Which should not make me that happy because I'm older than almost all of you!! lol]

Can anyone else relate? HA! In hindsight, I should have made this a shaker - that could count as calorie burning movement!  The arched window was made using
Waffle Flower's Nested Domes, and the snowflakes are from the EBE Pop-up Mittens

Oh, do I wish I had more time - let me just say, these could be my favorites of the entire release!  but wait... oh wait until you see the treats tomorrow - please stop back?

Second Helpings for Altenew!

With all those fun papers, and products I used yesterday still out on my desk, I thought a bit of color-blocking would be fun.  Here's the second helpings, for Altenew's Inspiration Challenge, my playtime produced...

Here's how I did it:
  • I adhered three strips of appropriate colored cardstock together and cut it to an A2 card panel.
  • Dotted Swirls debossing die added this fun pattern
  • Classic Alphas [last year's birthday gift!] were used to cut my JOY-filled sentiment
  • a fun pine bough from Focus on You was stamped in Versamark, and clear heat embossed, then die cut with the coordinating dies
  • a few Red Cosmos enamel dots added a wee bit of swag to the swag. lol

Hope they like it … thanks for stopping by today!

Watercoloured Poinsettia

There is so many wonderful challenges out there - you know I do have a few favorites, wink, wink.  With those in mind, yesterday I brought out one of my favorite Christmas flowers, and my Altenew 36 pan set of water colors, and just let the color flow.

Here are my creations... the first one is heading over to the CAS Watercolour gals - they're looking for a monochromatic card... I don't know about you but I just adore pink Poinsettia - this beauty, from Altenew, will never go out of style!

Here's my recipe:
Water coloring + stamping + heat embossing +
dry embossing

Next up... same Altenew Poinsettia and die, but this one is going to Altenew's November Inspiration Challenge

Altenew's Dotted Swirls debossing cover die is so gorgeous - it adds just enough interest to my pale rose panel,
don't you think?  doing a bit of color mixing in the 36 Pan set allowed me to match those inspiration colors pretty easily.

Well.  I guess I'd better get these off to the appropriate gallery - thanks for hanging out with me twice today!  xx

e.t.a.  what a wonderful way to end the CAS Season!!!
Thank you, ladies!

So honored to be chosen from that gorgeous gallery of cards!
Thank you Altenew!!

EBE November 2019 Release - Day two

Thanks for stopping by for Day Two of teases of the final release of 2019 from Ellen Hutson, LLC … your comments yesterday made my heart so happy!  Don't forget to leave a comment on each day's sneaks over at the EH Blog, for your chance to win the whole kit n caboodle!

Today we're teasing Up in the Air, and Clouds the newest set of stand-alone dies to join the EBE line.  Ready?  Up, up, up we go....

You all know by now how much I love the neutral look of grey, right?  Today I've used a few patterned papers to create a scene.  You'll see that I stamped, and white heat-embossed the dirigible [a.k.a. Blimp =] onto my pattern paper.  I used the Clouds to make the imagination work to give it a little lift, and our EBE Big City for a skyline - all cut from the a different pattern in the same color!  The spectators in the Up in the Air set are just so fun … think that little girl reaching will be able to catch a ride?

[About those little messages?  you'll have to wait a few days - but aren't they the cahUTEST??]

I'll be back tomorrow!  How is your Christmas card making going?

25 Days of Christmas Tags

I'm joining a few of my teamies from Ellen Hutson, LLC over at Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 - her 9th season!!  Congratulations, Tracey!  My three 'French Hens' [a triple helping from EBE Good Egg stamps, and dies] are delighted to kick up their heels with a little can-can on a tag!  I've stretched the EBE Shipping Tag die to add a bit of frill with Pinkfresh Studio's Classic Edgers.

These cute little Santa hats were borrowed from their Beast Friends, btw.  And of course they wobble!!!  Why wouldn't they??  I found their hats all colored up in my Christmas snippets - what?  you don't have one?  I borrowed the Copic colored plaid idea from my teamie Ardyth!  I found just the perfect little ribbon from my stash of EH  thank you ribbons!  and OF COURSE I wrote the inside sentiment myself...

There is a prize from Ellen Hutson today just for commenting, and tag-making - and prizes galore each day from one of these generous sponsors:

Thanks, friends, for stopping by … enjoy every day of Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags - and thanks, Tracey, for inviting the EH gang to tag along!

EBE November Sneak Peek Week!

It's that time again, my friends!  The final release from Ellen Hutson, LLC for the year … hasn't there been so much to love from the EBE line this year?  Brandi Kincaid leaves us with another collection of things to love in 2019 - maybe just what we'll need to start stamping in 2020!

Today, we're all sneaking peeks of In the Weeds, which will have a coordinating die, and the sweetest of sentiments! Ready to see my card?

I stamped it onto Neenah 110# paper - and did a bit of simple Copic coloring [even those wee dots] with these markers:

I'll be here each day this week with a few more teases from the release … hope you can take a tiny break from Christmas card-making to join me - you know I appreciate it so much!

OH!!  Are you aware that one lucky person will win the entire release?  Just stop by the Ellen Hutson, LLC Blog here to leave a comment on each Peek Week post this week for your chance!

CAS[E] this Sketch #346

Happy Halloween, my friends!  but no Halloween card from me today... that ship has sailed, and segued right into Christmas!  lol

Here's a fun Sketch from Donna for CTS#346:

I have many friends in the PNW who could appreciate a Merry Squatch-y Christmas card... this guy has been just sitting in my snippets bowl waiting for his photo-shoot!

Inside:  "Hope your holidays are the beast, too!!  wait.  no.  the BEST!!"

A few non-traditional Christmas Copics
were used in the making of this card, along
with Shaded lilac, and Vintage photo DOX for blended strip

My fellow CTS teammates undoubtedly have had fun with Donna's Sketch, too … let's go check them out, shall we?

Thanks, for stopping by today!  xx

Just in time for those Halloween treats!  at Ellen Hutson, LLC!

Inspired By #96 ... jars

There are a few ways to interpret Laurel's photo inspiration this week …

I have a darling jar, but decided I'd take my inspiration from the pumpkin painted on the white one in the photo - did you see it?  a fun way to 'contain' my Reverse Confetti cotton bolls for IB#96

After stamping Dee's pumpkin onto white card stock, I used a loose watercoloring to color it with DOX broken china, and vintage photo inks.  Then I 'carved' it with a bit of hand-drawn stitching lines, and scissors.  A CAS bit of framing with a Spellbinder's Hemstitch die, and a sentiment from RC's Fall Foliage that makes this a pretty untraditional Thanksgiving card... but, it works, right?  lol

Hope you've had a fantastic week … thanks for spending a bit of your precious time with me!  If you have a bit more to spare, we'd love it if you'd join us this week - I know you have a jar, fill it with anything your heart desires!

The Library Challenge #45

Image result for dave barry the worst class trip ever
My bloggy friend Julie is the Visiting Librarian at The Library Challenge #45 … she has chosen this book by Dave Barry, and I have chosen to turn it into a Christmas card depicting
the best trip to the tree farm ever!!

Using the Cool Christmas set of stamps and dies, from MFT,
I was inspired by:
  • The sky, and skyline
  • the yellow bus full of people
  • the statues turned trees
Ready to see?

and here's a look at the Copics I used to color it!

Hope the librarians like it!!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge #22

Jingle All the Way!

I printed out a few sheets of my 'hand-written' Christmas paper - you haven't seen them?  So easy - you should make your own!  I found them to be the perfect backdrop for my tiny little jingle-bell-wearing Reindeer, for Jo's Jingle all the Way Christmas Kickstart challenge!  Hope Jo likes them...

This paper features my letter to Santa circa 1959

Okay.  We all know that Rudolph's nose lights the way for Santa's sleigh each year.  But this little guy is hoping to see that this year HE will be chosen!!  yep. that's me rooting for the underdog - or the underdeer!

I'd better hop over and get one of these into that CKS gallery!

Three very Merry, very Stripe-y Christmas cards

Hello, my friends!  I'm starting off my Monday with a little twist... playing cards first, then doing the laundry!  How's that for rebellion?  lol

Okay, total honesty these were made over the weekend, and I was inspired by the one-and-only Laura Fedora - she seems to have caused a stripe-ing-stampede here in blogland!

I pulled out three of my favorite Mondo flowers from Ellen Hutson, LLC and my mini MISTI to make this process about as easy as it could get.  Here's how...
  1. Choose some fun colored cardstocks from your snippets bin - cut as many, in as many sized strips as you'd like. or need
  2. arrange them in your chosen order; create panels of stripes, and connect them on the backside with double-sided tape
  3. cut to size for your card
  4. stamp your image [I've used Versa Claire Nocturne ink - stamps beautifully, and cleans off the stamp so easily] onto your card front, leaving the stamp attached to the cover of your MISTI
  5. Add the stripe-y strip, and stamp again!

Mondo Holly stamps & sentiment from
Mondo Amaryllis above

sentiments from Mondo Holly & Hang On

Thanks, Laura, for sharing your
fabulous ideas with us all!

Thank YOU, friends for hanging out with me this morning!

CAS[E] this Sketch #345

Brian's Sketch #345 has allowed me to dig into my Halloween stash and have a play with a very old MFT set that still makes me smile - and feel like a kid again... here's where it all began:

wait... do kids still say this rhyme?  it is a little bit cheeky...

I pulled out the old Zigs to color this one... here are the colors:

Hey.  If this is as bad as it gets, I'll be happy as that little ghoul-y guy!  [btw he didn't even scream when I cut off his arm! okay the skeleton did lol however]

One more week until Halloween... are you ready?  Hope you'll take advantage of Brian's Sketch to make someone a spooky treat...
