Freshly Made Sketches #743

It's Summertime and the heat [and just the right amount of rain] are making our gardens look like we might know what we're doing! lol  Don't count on it!  But our gardens put me in a floral mood for Judy's Freshly Made Sketches #743... take a peek...

Okay, like you might be, I was a little freaked out over those strips, but then
I remembered that our sketches are only a 'glimpse' of what the shapes
might mean to us!  See what I mean...

Two water-colored florals from Pinkfresh Studios' Beautiful Blooms set.
And when I couldn't find a matching 'periwinkle' blue cardstock in my stash,
I just watercolored a strip the same wilted violet as my 'Delphiniums!'
All of this was popped up on my SU Subtle Texture panel and added
to a side-fold A2 card base.

A little stitching and an embossed circle from my snippets and all
I had left was to top it off with another Betterpress-ed sentiment.

I can't wait to see what my teammates have added to the team page since I was there last.  And just what will YOU make to represent those strips?  I look forward to seeing your cards, too!  You have until Monday July 6 at 3 pm to join in!

  6. Working to a sketch nearly always stumps me, so I am always impressed by your interpretation. This is very clever and very pretty. Love the fact that you embossed that circle. It is those little details that does it xx

  8. A gorgeous rendition of the sketch, Michele! The soft colored delphiniums look just like some that are currently in bloom in my garden. Beautifully done! The only thing missing are pictures of your gardens in bloom. Would love to see them. (wink, wink)

  9. Lovely card, Michele. Clever idea to watercolor the paper when you couldn't find the cardstock. Your cards always look so crisp and clean. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas.
