Last week I visited Marcia with the hopes that I'd go home with a good start on my final Christmas cards for my seniors... she never lets me down! Good fun, good food can always be found at The Hill House!
Here are a few of the cards made with the darling Penny Black images I stamped from her stash...
PB Yuletide Delivery paired with PB friend edger; PB plaited frames
A second image from PB Yuletide Delivery; PB Plaited Frames; SSS Fir Sprigs; Wplus9 love notes; PB Linked EF. It could almost be saved for Valentine's Day, right?
PB Bundled; sentiment from PB Frosty hops; PB Double Frames
This tweet little trio of birds were calling my name:
One more Halloween card - let's just say I was bewitched... and since she's playing
'dress up' I'll send this one to The Paper Players where Claire is
looking for costumes!
PB FaBOOlous; PB Frame it; sentiment: Colorado Craft Co. Birthday Wishing
A few weeks ago, Marcia posted some wonderful cards using C&9th Kristina Werner's Holiday Icons stencil set. When you start with two half-sheets of paper, you end up with FOUR cards! Well, you know I would NOT be able to resist a little stenciling with my friend - it's standard procedure! I won't bother sharing the inks - here are my four cards with a fun little flurry of finishes so I could play at Christmas Kickstart's Challenge 103 - Snow Alert! with Jo and Loll!
All the sentiments are from Pinkfresh Studios: Holiday Large Sentiments
that were stamped in Altenew Obsidian black ink and clear embossed.
I found a few Altenew black enamel embellishments that 'brought them home.'
Simple white frames are from Waffle Flower Crafts: Nesting Rectangle Frames.
Marcia is always so kind to make chili for me - she knows I love it and Tom doesn't eat it, so I seldom make it! I brought my honey cornbread which gets griddle-toasted with butter, and I tried a new recipe for dessert: LEMON brownies! A winner in my book!
Another all-together-wonderful day, my friend! Thanks so much for sharing your goodies [and friendship] with me!
Now, let's go see what Marcia got up to after I left...
=] Michele
WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Those PB Christmas cards are all so adorable Michele and water colored and finished off just perfectly! Your trio of birdies couldn't be any sweeter and I love that you colored them in so brightly! (You're more daring than me with color!!) Your little bewitched gal is absolutely adorable too and perfect for a non scary card!! Your last 4 stenciled cards came out great and I just am in love with your color combinations!! I may have to get that set out again just to play with some more color combos!! I always look forward to our get togethers...the inspiration and friendship abounds!! Thanks so much for the yummy cornbread and lemon brownies (that recipe is definitely a keeper!!!) you brought too! Another delightful day together my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteCuteness overload today, with all these sweet cards! Each PB image is colored to perfection and the designs are all fabulous. I'm smitten by the trio of birds though. They are the cutest, sitting on those soft golden leaves.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous productive day with Marcia! Super sweet images and cards
ReplyDeleteSO many amazing cards, Michele! Always so jealous of your skills and time spent crafting with a friend -- I only wish I were half as talented, and lived a WHOLE lot closer to you two! I will admit though, that I barely made it passed the first sweet card -- you know I love those edgers! Sweet PB images and awesome stenciling -- the cards are all winners, in my book
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful selection of cards - you have been busy! I love all of them, but the card for CKC made me go squee! Thanks so much for joining Loll and me for our snowy challenge, Jo x
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, they are some lucky seniors to be receiving your little works of art! As CUTE as all of those PB images are and as fabulous as that stencil set is... there's something special about that trio of little birds! They look so sweet on the buttery yellow leaves you've given them to perch on!
ReplyDeleteI can see that you had a great time with Marcia and what a wonderful collection of cards came from that meeting, Michele! Your little darlings will delight the seniors and brighten their day! The adorable witch would work for Penny Black Saturday this month. The quartet of stenciled backgrounds work beautifully with those large sentiments and the snowflakes and frames are delightful!
ReplyDeleteOh, those darling little PB cuties! I love them any day, any time of year and, yes, the Yuletide Delivery girl could certainly be used for Valentine's Day. I have those IO birds and they're some absolute favorites! I need to do a bird focus to revisit all my feathered friends stamps, but it would take me forever. Still gonna do it though. Your stenciled cards are sweet and pretty and so artfully inked they almost appear to be die cut and layered. Love the colors you used. It sounds like a wonderful day. It's been ages since I spent a day crafting with a friend. I miss that.
ReplyDeleteJUST WOW!!!!!! These cards are FANTASTIC!!!! Crafting with a friend is always a great way to spend the day. I too, love chili and glad you got to enjoy a warm bowl. Your little witch with her kitty is too cute. Just perfect for a Halloween night! So happy you joined us at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a feast for the eyes this post is. Incredible cards xx
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been a busy lady. Can't wait to see Marcia's. Your PB images are as sweet as can be, as is your coloring of them. Love how you framed each one. Your last 4 cards are pretty and colorful. Thanks for sharing all these lovely cards.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is "WOW", my friend! You've created so many delightful cards with the PB sets and got to spend time with Marcia as well - lucky girl! I absolutely adore the cute with hugging her kitty while sitting on her broom. She's got some good powers to be able to do that lol! It's a delightful card and I'm so glad you were able to join us this week at the Paper Players!
ReplyDeletePS My husband made us chili and cornbread two nights ago! I share your passion!!
I thoroughly enjoy seeing your projects from a Marcia get together and these have not disappointed! I'm in love with the second PB that could, indeed, be used for Valentine's Day! And your KW cards are very cool and inspiring for me. The stencil keeps glaring at me whenever I pass by.....And lemon browinies are the perfect chili and cornbread dessert! Yum!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards from your play day with Marcia. The two of you are both to talented. LOVE all the cards you've made on your last trip. Lemon Brownies ... they sound delicious! :) xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful collection! The Halloween card is a pure beauty. I love that ornate dark frame! The purples in the hat and gown, leaking into the sentiment, just give such heart to the card. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful friendship you have! And what beautiful cards you create from your playtime. Your watercoloring is stellar! Your stencilling looks fabulous. What a yummy day all around!
ReplyDeleteOh my I had a great time in your art gallery today! I make one card and I’m exhausted - I would need CPR after a day with you and Marcia! Wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteWell not only does that sound like the best crafty day ever Michele but you've a ton of fab cards to boot! Gorgeous, all of them (I have my eye on that KW stencil too!) Thanks for sharing your cute witch with us over at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteGee WHizzies....where do I begin! Wowza, you've been a busy stamper, cutter, colorer and card creator! They're aaaaaaalllll beautiful! So fun to see the different images and the way you assembled and colored them all! I will need to take another peek, a little slower next time! But I did want to see your little Halloween-ers were perfect for the Players!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Marcia had PB stamps you didn't have. They are all adorable and you colored and designed beautiful cards around them. I've seen Kristina's stencil used and it's wonderful that you get two cards with each inking. The frames and snowflakes are a great finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteThat's a whole lot of Holidy and Halloween fabulousness, Michele. All those PB inages are so adorable and I love the way you used them in your sweet cards. I so love the Plaited Frame dies. I adore that birdie trio perched on that wonderful branch amid the buttery yellow. LOVE that Halloween witchie and her cuddly cat, and those four stenciled cards are just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious you share such a special friendship with Marcia how wonderful that you can get together to share your passion. Your cards are so uplifting and so many of them!!!!! Your watercolouring is beautiful (especially love the birdies).
ReplyDeleteMarie
