The Group of Seven Cardmakers are at it again and I happen to LOVE their current technique so here I am joining in the fun!
I have used many of my cover dies as embossing plates before, but this set of circular Penny Black Ripples has never been cut apart! So, each time I use it there are multitudes of frames cut, and many are tucked into the packaging for later use... we all know how that goes.
Thanks for always inspiring me to try another technique with you ladies!
Oh so beautiful. Thanks for sharing how you created the colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Michele! That's the perfect layered die set for embossing. The peony is stunning.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful embossing those dies make, Michele! They remind me of ripples in water! That peony is awesome with all those blended colors! I'm awestruck at how many pieces went into all this gorgeousness! Well done, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWho knew that PB die would make such a cool embossed background??!! I love it and also that gorgeous peony...your layers of color are fabulous and really make that flower stand out Michele!! Lovely, lovely card!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your beautiful peonies and colors! Michele, you may also be brilliant (imho) when it comes to using the gradient as well for coloring your flowers -- I for one really stumble when getting to coloring the layers. I also love that you embossed all the circles together
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous shaded die cut Peony Michele! thanks for sharing an easier way to get all the colors blended! The embossed die looks lovely behind the bloom! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Michele. Love how you've used the ripple frames to emboss the background. It is a lovely place for your peony to rest. Great idea to use ombre watercolouring to create your shaded bloom --- so clever! Thanks for sharing your card with us at Group of Cardmakers. xx
ReplyDeleteOooh, such a beautiful peony, and I love your idea for quick and gentle shading of the layers! Right off, I thought the embossing looks like ripples on the water, and then I see that the die set is called "ripples". This is quite a brilliant use of it! Gorgeous card altogether, Michele!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great technique. I can't understand why we aren't all using it all the time! That is the perfect background for your pretty peony xx
ReplyDeleteI like the ripples the embossing created and your peony is gorgeous! Fabulous card, Michele!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and GENIUS--the debossed ripples set off your peony beautifully! And the coloring is something I want to try. Sure saves a workout over ink distressing! And I'd come over anytime to help with laundry if you can keep inspiring us!
ReplyDeleteYou are on a gorgeous roll...thanks too for the tips.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun background for your beautiful peonies Michele. Thanks for showing us how you got all those lovely colors in the many layers of the peonies die. Love the sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteAlmost looks like the flower is floating on a pond... what a dreamy design!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Tucking this idea away to try with some of my Penny Black dies.
ReplyDeleteA stunning card Michee! I love that gorgeous bloom and the embossed background is perfect. Just adding that bit of interest but not overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous and your embossed frame background is perfect. I'm so glad you tried the technique with us at the Group of Cardmakers xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever use of the die it looks magnificent and the peony is absolutely gorgeous.

I knew you'd do something beautiful with that peony, Michele, and what a great idea to make an inked panel to cut the pieces from. The frames make a great embossed background to show off the flower.
ReplyDeleteThat embossing is fabulous, Michele. I wish I had more time. It seems to be sorely lacking these days. Your card is absolutely gorgeous. The colors are amazing!
