CAS Mix Up August 2018

I hope you don't mind me dropping into your world one more time today!?

Nancy is the host for this month's CAS Mix Up, and my friend Hideko pointed me in the right direction with her gorgeous card!  I had to try this Monoprint technique - thanks, girls!

I pulled out a few of my favorite Distress Inks, and a few stencils that really don't see the light of day often... that could change, now that I've tried this technique!

 Counter-clockwise:
MFT raindrops, Gina Marie Designs, and Dots by DCWV

If you know me at all, you know I'm just a wee bit color-phobic … grey is my favorite color!!!  Here's why... raindrops only happen on a cloudy day!

I've used Pumice Stone for Mono-printing, stamping, and die cutting for my choice.

The other thing you might know is
I never waste a thing, if I can help it!

I do have a few colorful ones, too...

You'll have to stop back on August 23rd for the finished product here  =]

Thanks Nancy, and Hideko - it's been way too long since I've played cards for a challenge - and I miss it so much!  I'm off to the gallery!

Love the neutral colour of your first card and yes raindrops happen on a cloudy day...There's nothing cloudy about this card...absolutely love it. Always great to get two cards from the same technique. Love the colour combination on your third card and the fabulous stencil you have used. You clearly have had fun with this technique and looking forward to seeing your sneak peak on your last card. Thank you for adding this beautiful card to the gallery at The CAS Mix UP Challenge x.

I also love the patterns and colorful versions with this technique...I'm sure you'll be sharing more ideas with us and I can't wait to see them! Thanks for inspiring us with your awesome creations :)

Isn't monoprinting fun! I think I like it better than regular stenciling. Love your raindrops, Michele, both the positive die cuts and the negative! The piece was too pretty to waste! I love your piece with the colors and can't wait to see the last one on the 23rd! Challenge is open until the 24th! Thanks so much for sharing these with us at CAS Mix Up!

I have not tried this technique Michele, but so want to try and find the time to do it. Will see how it goes for me. I am loving all your beautiful cards! Your first card describes how it is here, we are making a slash every single day. It down pours every day but at least the sun comes right back out. lol Love those raindrops, what die is that? Love the sentiment on this one! The negative space one is equally beautiful and I am loving the sentiment on this one as well. Your stencil monoprints turned out so well! The colorful one is so pretty too-love it as well and I am intrigued by the last card, so can't wait to see the whole thing. Hugs, Brenda

I'm so glad that you tried the technique, Michele! Isn't it fun and easy (meaning not time-consuming)?
Your Pumice Stone monoprint for your raindrops are fantastic! I can instantly tell who made this card, looking at the challenge gallery. :-) The light monoprint results are perfect for the raindrops and the die-cut sentiment font goes so well with the raindrop shapes. Love the monochromatic tone and the clever design leading the eye from top to bottom. Can't wait to see more on Aug 23! Hideko xx
