Oh the joy for that grad! But also a very bittersweet time for the parents. Of course we're full of pride for our child's accomplishments during these twelve years. We hope for bright futures with little hardship, career choices that will make them happy in life; successful. It is their beginning. But there are those secret times, when alone, and no one is listening that we almost wish we could do it all again ... yep, every single day of it.

ReplyDeleteOh boy, you have hit my weak spot with this one Michele! I love this grad card, it is full of fun just like grads are! It took my back to last year when my baby graduated-I couldn't believe that day had came so fast and yes, I would do it all over again if I could. Why is it so hard to let go of our children. And I can truly say it doesn't matter how many children you have, it is hard to let go each one of them. An empty nest scares the daylights out of me! lol But come Aug, we will have an empty nest once again and once again I will be counting down the months until his second year of college is over and my baby will be back home once again. Only one day he won't be coming back home, but moving on to a life of his own in his own place. Thank God we have grandkids!! lol Thanks for the trip down memory lane....I think. lol Hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteOur nest has been empty for a long time now. I miss the sound of kids' voices, the laughter, and the exchanges of *life* we all shared. But time only marches forward, and there have been wonderful times for these kids of ours. Life is good at all stages! Great card, btw. Love the grays and reds. Love the inset circle. Love the simplicity of this card. You so rock! Bev
ReplyDeleteMichele...I know just what you mean. My daughter will graduate from college in the winter and we are as proud of her as can be...would not change a thing but I too would do it all over again, I have nothing but happy memories!

ReplyDeleteFabulous card, my friend, and oh, but you are so right about the longings for the 'roads not traveled.' Knowing what I know now about being a teacher, I would have chosen another path. This one was good, but...burnout isn't fun! Then again, I might not have discovered card-making had I gone another route (or I may have found it sooner). I think I'll just be grateful for what I have - and that includes YOU as a friend!
